| iBluegrass Mission Statement |
iBluegrass Magazine (formerly BluegrassUSA) was born out of a love for Bluegrass Music and a need to return to our roots. We plowed through the 70's right along with the rest of the "me" generation, but something about Bluegrass music left it's impression on us. Perhaps it was the quiet and unassuming way it creeps in and makes itself at home in your heart, perhaps it's because so much of other music has been influenced by it or perhaps it is the people who make it so special. Whatever the reason we arrived back where we belong and starting the web site seemed to be a way for us to connect with others who also felt the way we did.
Our goal is to bring to the Bluegrass community the same magnitude of Internet technology afforded those in other musical genres. We firmly believe that Bluegrass musicans are some of the most talented individuals in music today but are the least acknowledged. We knew that bringing specialized web design talents to a site would allow people to "sit up and take notice" and would give Bluegrass music the kind of exposure it deserved. We have the ability to take this as far as we want and are limited only by our imaginations. The Internet is a truly amazing communication tool that brings communities of people together in a way that a few years ago could not have been imagined.
As with any venture of this magnitude, comes the financial responsibilities and we have those too. The cost of graphic designers, programmers, hosting fees, pens, papers, and the little things that go into your computer to make it create neat things (programs), can sometimes be staggering. We have decided that to continue our growth we will need to seek sponsorship. We are commited to providing the most comprehensive Bluegrass site on the Internet, the most inovative designs and technology, while promoting all styles of Bluegrass music in positive light. At no time will we compromise our standards and our commitment to making this a site that anyone and everyone in our visitor's family can enjoy and participate in. Your questions, comments and suggestions are always welcome.
Our immediate goal is to obtain enough sponsorship dollars to develop iBluegrass into a virtual Bluegrass community and are currently working with other Bluegrass professionals on joint ventures. With our sponsors support we can continue the growth and the enthusiasm we have received so far. We cannot begin to express our excitement about where we are going and how very much we appreciate the support of those we now know as friends. So, climb on board, hang on to your hats and get ready to roll!
