iBluegrass Presents Dede Wyland

The vocal magic of DEDE WYLAND, augmented by her solid guitar style, has captured audiences both nationally and internationally during a touring career that has spanned over two decades. A veteran of countless concert halls, clubs and festivals, Dede has established herself among the most respected singers in Bluegrass music.

A featured and founding member of "Tony Trischka and Skyline," Dede’s recorded legacy includes four Flying Fish albums with Skyline, (including the 1999 release Ticket Back: a Retrospective), two Rounder Record releases, one with her own, "Grass, Food & Lodging" and her acclaimed Look Into Your Heart solo project.

As a fixture on the national radio scene, Dede has appeared on such shows as "A Prairie Home Companion," "Mountain Stage," and Chicago’s "The Flea Market." Her television appearances include two stints on the Nashville Network’s "Fire On The Mountain," and have served to reinforce her reputation as a 'singer’s singer.'

A busy performance schedule and numerous recorded cameos with notable Bluegrass artists have helped to earn Dede the title of "1999 Female Bluegrass Vocalist of the Year" awarded by WAMA (The Washington Area Music Association) as well as multiple nominations for that same title by SPGMA, (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America), Nashville.

As a sought-after voice teacher and coach, Dede augments her concert activities with a demanding schedule of private instruction, workshop facilitating and freelance recording studio work.

In concert Dede is routinely accompanied by some of the top players in Bluegrass.

Look for the feature article on Dede in the January, 2001 issue of Bluegrass Unlimited.
